CCNZ hosted two webinars on Monday 20 April, exploring new national protocols for the construction industry to return to work under COVID-19 Alert Level 3. The webinars were presented by CCNZ Technical Manager Stacy Goldsworthy Construction Health and Safety New Zealand Chief Executive Chris Alderson, and Worksafe Engagement Lead Suzanne Watt (for the 12pm session only).
The webinars covered off the specifics of the new standard and protocols, which have been designed to provide clear national guidance for the whole of the construction industry. The standard and protocols were developed by a cross-industry working group, including Construction Health and Safety New Zealand, Site Safe, Civil Contractors New Zealand, Registered Master Builders and a wide variety of other organisations and associations. They have been endorsed by WorkSafe, the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment, and the New Zealand Transport Agency, in addition to several other client groups.
The standard and protocols are available at https://www.chasnz.org/covid19.
CCNZ has also composed some informal responses to questions asked during the webinar in the interests of providing timely information to members. The FAQ document can be viewed here.
