Outstanding Individual forges path to first Hynds Construction Supreme Award in Construction Awards history

17 Sep 2022

Last night over 650 people gathered to celebrate all that is fantastic in the civil construction industry, across all categories including people, technology and innovation, and projects.  “It is wonderful to see the enormous levels of support for this event, CCNZ, and the civil construction industry in Auckland.” said Chair of the CCNZ Auckland Branch, Peter Ensor.

It was a night filled with storytelling and celebration across the Auckland civil construction industry, especially for Marianne Rogers who secured the win for the first ever CCNZ Hynds Construction Supreme Award at the CCNZ Auckland Branch Hynds Construction Awards 2022 Gala Dinner.

Marianne has tunnelled her way through a predominantly male industry, leading previous teams to achieve success, and continuing to win prestigious awards. Marianne's extensive career spans over 30 years from being one of the first women to work underground at Mt Isa, to project managing major projects across New Zealand.

Aligning key values such as curiosity, honesty, and kindness with roles in the civil infrastructure industry, Marianne is a strong advocate for equality, respect, and fairness in the workplace. Marianne has provided support to women in the industry by volunteering at the Queensland Working Women’s service, tutoring at Tai Poutini Polytech, and more recently, sitting on the New Zealand Mining Board of Examiners.

The Supreme win was a welcome addition to Marianne Rogers’ previous Outstanding Individual win, sponsored by Stellar Recruitment, earlier in the evening.

Other winners this evening included People Awards winners, Mussolini Crawley and Aiden Moffatt, both from Pipeline & Civil, as well as Technology and Innovation Awards winners CB Civil and Drainage, Fulton Hogan, and CLL Projects.

Project Category winners included rockfall mitigation specialists, Geovert; civil construction service provider, McKenzie & Parma; ground engineers, Groundfix; civil engineers, CB Civil & Drainage; infrastructure construction company, McConnell Dowell; infrastructure construction, roadworks, and aggregate supplier, Fulton Hogan.

Congratulations to the Winners of CCNZ Hynds Construction Awards 2022
