Toward the end of last year, I called for expressions of interest from members to join a CCNZ industry reference group to help frame up our priorities in the construction and infrastructure space, to help identify the barriers to successful project delivery, to use as a sounding board for ideas and initiatives, and to have input in any other meaningful way that we can. Importantly, the group has a role to help CCNZ ensure that the Construction Sector Accord is connected with our industry, and that its work programme is influenced by us and supports our strategic priorities.
The work of this group will help shape the future direction of policies and decisions that impact the programme pipeline, procurement, capability and capacity, innovation and knowledge sharing, and much more. If we don’t engage meaningfully in this process (i.e., fully informed by industry feedback and data), we risk others forming conclusions or making decisions on our behalf and potentially to our detriment.
I have received expressions of interest from four members but would like a few more to provide a broader representation of the industry, particularly small to medium businesses.
I anticipate that the commitment would require a monthly online meeting of no more than an hour, offline reading, and responding to email feedback requests as they arise.
This is the final opportunity to register your interest. If you are interested in joining this group, or have further questions about it, please contact me at alan@civilcontractors.co.nz or phone me on 021 576 109
Kind regards
Alan Pollard
