Civil Contractors New Zealand has presented a civil construction industry briefing paper on COVID-19 to Government and the Construction Accord Steering Group.
This position paper requests more support for businesses in the civil construction industry, and covers four main points:
- the importance of the survival of the industry in a healthy state,
- the urgent need for cashflow,
- the need for more client consistency around variation or suspension of contracts while under lockdown,
- the importance of a rapid restart once the country moves out of a Level Four Alert lockdown.
