Civil Contractors New Zealand wrote to local Wellington councils calling for more rational dialog around water management, following the release of two reports into the performance of Wellington Water.
The letter called for councils to focus on the true task at hand — delivering and maintaining water assets for communities and expressed dismay at the level of blame attributed by elected officials that did not have a sound basis of fact.
CCNZ also welcomed the opportunity to support councils to establish a better system, and has since received responses and meeting requests from several Wellington region mayors.
