Heavy Vehicle class 2 learner licence course outline
Areas covered include:
HEAVY VEHICLE ROAD CODE: Learn all aspects of the heavy vehicle class 2 road code in
preparation for the NZTA learner licence
• Different classes and weight classifications of heavy vehicles
• Worktime and logbooks
• Vehicle dimensions, loading certificate and axles
• Load requirements and restraints
• Driver Safely
• Documentation
COMPUTER SKILLS: How to access the internet and search for information; using NZTA website;
using free driving tests app and Pathways Awarua
WRITING: Filling out forms; NZTA application form; filling in a heavy vehicle logbook
MATHS in the WORKPLACE: Using a calculator; 24 hour clock; weights and measures
READING in the WORKPLACE: Researching, reading, and navigating the NZTA road code
Courses are FREE for adult learners who are NZ citizens or Permanent residents.
