The inaugural CCNZ Bay of Plenty Hynds Construction Awards were presented at a capacity event held at Trinity Hotel in Tauranga on Saturday 1 October, with the Supreme Award presented to GT Civil for its Sherwin Street Stormwater Upgrade. The awards saw 29 entries across six categories.
CCNZ Chief Executive Alan Pollard said the Bay of Plenty awards night was an outstanding success, showcasing amazing projects, passionate and committed people.
"These awards presented an industry in the region that is well engaged and focussed on delivering the best outcomes for their communities. It was a night not just of celebration, but of reconnection following the disruption of the past two years. It was a privilege to be part of”.
CCNZ Bay of Plenty Branch vice chair Mike Speed congratulated the winners and finalists, and said the event had exceeded everyone's expectations.
"What an incredible evening at the Hynds Construction Awards with our CCNZ BoP Members and Associates! After so many years of deliberating about whether to hold our own event or not, we finally got one away.
"The night provided such a unique way of celebrating the success and develop of our people, and I have no doubt that future events will be even more widely supported. To all those that took the time to enter, thank you and well done. To anyone wondering about whether to enter next year – back yourself and go for it, you won’t be disappointed!"
