Southland awards celebrate excellence in civil contracting

More than 200 people descended on Ascot Park Hotel in Invercargill last Friday to celebrate success in civil contracting at the fourth annual CCNZ Southland Construction Awards.

The awards recognise and showcase the achievements of Southland’s civil contractors, with awards presented for outstanding projects, people and environmental initiatives.

Southland branch secretary Lauren McKinnel said there were 23 entries received this year – an increase on previous years. That made selecting winners particularly challenging for the judging panel, and many of the awards were hard fought.

“There’s some outstanding projects and work being done across our region and these awards were an opportunity for the companies and people involved to kick back, enjoy themselves, and take stock of what has been achieved,” she said.

“It was a great night out and a real celebration of the amazing people and projects in Southland.”
