Saturday 1 October was a heavy machinery action packed day, with more than 30 competitors competing in two classes; novice (less than five years experience) & experienced (more than five years experience), as well as awards for Judges Choice and the most accurate truck weight.
It was a cold and blustery day at Road Metals Quarry in Rolleston who kindly hosted the CCNZ Canterbury Westland CablePrice Regional Excavator Operator competition, but that didn't keep the supporters away. There was a mini-dig for kids to have-a-go as well as free food kindly sponsored by Higgins, and the Hirepool supplied the BBQ.
