27 of the region's best multi-skilled excavator operators bravely battled it out on the course to see who would take out the title for 2023 and who will represent Canterbury Westland at the the National Finals in Manawatu in March 2024 at the Central District Field Days.
And the winner is William Mikaere from Rosco Contractors on the West Coast.
The competition was held in conjunction with the Road Metals open day which saw hundreds of people from around Canterbury come for a guided tour of their quarry and a look around the amazing museum.
