In this test a bitumen bitumen sprayer is set to spray at a target rate, and is driven, with the spray bar operating,
over a set of pre weighed binder absorbent pads. The pads are arranged in a cross, with the arms along and at
right angles to the direction of travel. Each pad is re weighed to determine the amount of binder sprayed, and
calculations are performed to determine the degree of transvers e and longitudinal uniformity, rates of fall off at
the ends of the spray bar, the distances required for the bar t o cut in and cut off, and the actual application rate
achieved.
