CCNZ made a submission to the Ministry for the Environment on proposals to amend the Waste Minimisation Act 2008 (WMA) and the Litter Act 1979.
The submission noted the need to better manage soils, and adequately provide for infrastructure under the waste levy.
A CCNZ paper on resolving wastage in NZ's soil management approach was also provided to support the submission. This paper will be further refined and shared with decision makers in coming weeks.
