CCNZ's two nominations for the standards development committee for the revision of NZS 3916:2013 Conditions of contract for building and civil engineering – Design and construct and NZS 3917:2013 Conditions of contract for building and civil engineering - Fixed term have been accepted.
Simon La Monica of Fletcher Construction will take on the contractor representative role, while Paul Buetow of Dentons will provide contractor representation from a legal perspective.
Paul and Simon are seeking feedback in the next 10 working days on specific issues with these contracts, that need to be addressed in the review. Please note, issues must be new matters specific to 3916 and 3917. This cannot be used as an opportunity to re-litigate matters already covered by 3910:2023, so to the extent possible, recommended changes to 3916 and 3917 should be consistent with the 3910 amendments present in the current version.
Please include clause the clause number and specific changes you want to see in the updated contracts, as well as the specific wording you would like to see and your reasoning for the changes.
