Awards recognise Otago achievers

More than 300 guests attended the 70th Civil Contractors New Zealand Otago Branch Annual General Meeting and Dinner in Wanaka on Friday 7 June.

The event was held at the Warbirds & Wheels museum, and included the 2019 Hynds Otago Construction Awards, Hirepool Young Contractor of the Year Award, in addition to awards for innovation, environmental excellence and the region’s top photo.

Civil Contractors New Zealand Chief Executive Peter Silcock said the event had been very well presented, and it was ‘brilliant’ to see widespread support for the awards from across the region.

“The great thing about these awards is the depth of engagement. It was great to see so many local contractors turn out to support a great event.

“When it comes down to it, these events are all about recognising great people. It’s the people that make the projects great, and I was proud to see our people featuring strongly at the heart of the Otago Branch Awards.”
