We are Civil Contractors New Zealand, New Zealand's national association for civil, engineering and general contractors. Our website address is: https://civilcontractors.co.nz. What personal data we collect and why we collect it:

We collect personal information from our members and those who create logins for our website, www.civilcontractors.co.nz, including information about your:

We collect your personal information in order to:

Communicate with our members and stakeholders
Charge membership fees

Besides our staff and regional branches, we share this information with:

Hirepool New Zealand, in order to communicate with CCNZ members and partners under the specific terms of our agreement with Hirepool as CCNZ Principal Business Partner.
CCNZ’s publishing company Contrafed to enable its staff to send Contractor Magazine to you.
The public (through CCNZ's member list in the Annual Report and the online Find a Contractor map). This following upload or provision by a Contractor member Key Contact. The Annual Report listing is a prerequisite of membership, and the Find a Contractor Map is to assist people in finding relevant contractors and goods and service providers to meet their needs
New member contact details are shared with n3 and Advice Financial for the purpose of accessing member discount programmes and the CCNZ Group Health Insurance Scheme
Other than this, we do not share your private information with third parties.

Providing some information is optional. If you choose not to enter membership details, including email address, postal address and the name of a key contact, we’ll be unable to provide your business with the benefits of CCNZ membership. If you choose not to enter an email address we’ll be unable to provide them with communications and updates.

We keep your information safe by storing it in encrypted files and only allowing certain staff to access it.

Personal credit card information is not held by us. We use a third party gateway provider Windcave (previously DPS) which manages personal credit card details.

You have the right to ask for a copy of any personal information we hold about you, and to ask for it to be corrected if you think it is wrong. If you’d like to ask for a copy of your information, or to have it corrected, please contact us at info@civilcontractors.co.nz, or 0800 692 376, or : PO Box 12-013, Wellington.

If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.

Cookies

If you log into our site, you opt-in to saving your name, email address and IP address in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again, and for site functionality. These cookies will last for one year.

If you have an account and you log in to this site, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.

When you log in, we will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select “Remember Me”, your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.

If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie will be saved in your browser. This cookie includes no personal data and simply indicates the post ID of the article you just edited. It expires after 1 day.

How long we retain your data

For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. If you have an account on this site, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you, or unsubscribe you from any mailing lists we hold by emailing website@civilcontractors.co.nz. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
