Celebrating women in contracting - This award category is free to enter and is open to all financial members of the CCNZ Otago Branch.

This award recognises outstanding commitment by women who have demonstrated excellence while contributing to the success of projects within the civil contracting industry, whether on site or off.

CCNZ and Hynds are proud advocates and supporters of women in the civil contracting industry, and encourage nominations for this award from all companies.

Please note that nominees must have contributed to the success of projects within the civil contracting industry but do not have to work on a project site to do so.

Judging & Awards Process

  • The online submissions are assessed by the judges.
  • Entries will be short-listed and finalists advised 2 weeks after entries close. A judging panel will then interview the finalists.
  • Finalists are required to provide an electronic original size (high resolution) headshot photo (to be uploaded during the online application process).
  • Nominees give permission for their image to be used for promotional purposes should they win the award.
  • Nominees must be available to attend the Otago Branch Annual Construction Awards Dinner on 17 July at The Dunedin Town Hall where the winner will be announced.
  • Nominees that meet these criteria may also be selected by the judges from entrants to the Emerging Leader award category entry.

Eligibility

Nominee Eligibility:
Entries are open for individuals that:

  • Are a female employee of a CCNZ Contractor member that either is a member of Otago branch or has a permanent branch office in Otago.
  • Are normally resident within the Otago region and if working on a project outside Otago, intend to return to the Otago region on completion.
  • Are able to demonstrate industry experience to date.
  • Are nominated by the civil construction industry.

Criteria:

  • Online entry form completed by 15 May 2026.
  • Demonstration of leadership ability or potential.
  • Personal presentation, attitude, verbal ability and understanding of the industry.
