This award is looking for people who have innovated, impressed and made a difference to the industry, their company and their employer. They excel in their career and demonstrate a well-rounded character with strong leadership qualities.

This award recognises rising stars in the civil construction industry—individuals who have shown innovation, made a meaningful impact within their company and the wider industry, and consistently go above and beyond.

Nominees should demonstrate strong leadership, career excellence, and a well-rounded, driven character.

The award aims to encourage growth and celebrate excellence among our young professionals, acknowledging their hard work, dedication, and potential. Employers are encouraged to nominate employees who truly reflect the values and strengths of their business, multiple entries are welcome.

Judges will be looking for individuals who stand out through their achievements, leadership, and contributions to their team and the industry as a whole.

Nominees must be 30 years or younger and is open to anybody involved in the civil industry.

Judging & Awards Process

  • The online submissions are assessed by the judges.
  • Entries will be short-listed.
  • Finalists are required to provide an electronic original size (high resolution) headshot photo (to be uploaded during the online application process).
  • Nominees give permission for their image to be used for promotional purposes should they win the award.
  • Nominees must be available to attend the Otago Branch Annual Construction Awards Dinner on Friday 17 July at The Dunedin Town Hall where the winner will be announced.

Applications are open to individuals that:

  • Is employed within the civil construction industry by a CCNZ contractor member 
  • Aged 30 years or under as at the time of nomination
  • Are nominated by an employer, manager or mentor - please ensure the nominees are aware that they have been nominated
  • If a finalist, you are available to attend the CCNZ Otago Awards Dinner 17 July 2026
