Eligibility
- Any project that has achieved practical completion within the past 12 months (or which will achieve practical completion on or before 5 April 2024)
- Entrants must include in their submission:
- Project details such as start and end date and value.
- Project summary.
- A copy of the Certificate of Practical Completion for the project.
- Evidence of client satisfaction in writing, demonstrated by a letter/email from the client.
- Evidence of customer satisfaction (road users, adjoining property owners, stakeholders and neighbours), e.g. examples of the customer/s receiving good project information prior to and during the project or safety briefings; or feedback from stakeholders throughout the project.
- A selection of five high resolution photographs are to be uploaded. These photographs will be used for the awards presentations and awards booklet.
- Entries need to clearly show who the entrants are, regardless of the submission being individual or joint.
- Entries should indicate any commercially sensitive information that should not be published.
Award Application Questions
Company profile
- General nature of business, struct (e.g. limited company, owner operator etc.), years in operation, growth of the company, achievements.
- Number of staff, staff training systems, staff policies, etc.
- Safety policy and safety record, quality control methodology, environmental policy.

Scope/Project Summary
Briefly outline the scope of works of your contract i.e., what are the physical boundaries, what is your responsibility etc. as well as a brief summary of the project.
Safety 10%
Evidence of site safety management plans, toolbox meetings, site specific hazard ID, safety plans, accident registers etc. must be provided to enable assessment of safety management including traffic management. Failure to include evidence will mean no marks can be scored. You may upload image files such as .jpg, .gif etc.
Include a summary of:
- Number of hours worked by staff
- Number of accidents notified to DoL, number of other accidents/incidents or near misses
- Accident ratio for the last 12 months (use ratio of serious harm accidents per 100,000 hrs), improvements from previous year
- Staff involvement in HSE policy, training procedures etc
Innovation 20%
Marks will be allocated for innovative construction methods, techniques, management, design etc. that provided an advantage to the contractor.
Technical difficulty 10%
Describe whether any special skills were required and whether and abnormal conditions were encountered during the contract requiring special techniques to be developed.
Project management 10%
Describe the complexity of the project and management structure/practices used, number of and management of subcontractors.
Project profile 10%
The visibility of the project will be considered in considering the effect of the project on the public, neighbours, special interest groups etc. Include evidence of how the contractor has worked to minimise effects on the public (if your evidence is in a .pdf format please take photos as only image file formats can be uploaded here, .jpg, .gif etc.)
Environmental matters 10%
Describe the projects effect on the environment, risks and challenges faced and mitigation used. Provide evidence of any Environmental Management Plans and its implementation. (if your evidence is in a .pdf format please take photos as only image file formats can be uploaded here, .jpg, .gif etc.)
