The Hawkes Bay East Coast Branch Regional Excavator Operator Competition will be held on Friday 17th & Saturday 18th of October at the Gisborne Showgrounds in conjunction with their 150th Annual Poverty Bay A&P Show!
This is a great day for families and general public to join us and watch our talented staff and colleagues go head to head to win the title for 2025
The overall winner of the event will represent the region at the Nationals on 19th - 21st March 2026 in Feilding at the Central District Field Days Event and win prizes from our event sponsors plus a prize valued at $4000 - Laser, receiver and tripod kindly sponsored by Aptella

Competitors MUST be CCNZ Hawkes Bay East Coast members, or bona fide employees of a CCNZ Hawkes Bay East Coast members company. (There is a limit of 1 competitor per company to give everyone an opportunity to enter, additional competitors can go on a wait list and we will contact you if there is space)
All competitors need to be onsite before 7.30am ready for briefing and a site walk over, the competition starts at 8am
Sponsorship opportunities? The Hawkes Bay East Coast Branch is looking for sponsors to support the event. We are looking for prizes for the competitor goody bags, as well as main prizes for the winners and/or monetary contributions.
Barrel Shovelling Competition: This year we are bringing back the barrel shovelling competition, this is a great way to get the whole team involved, we will run four heats during Saturday lunchtime (12.30pm) and the winners will go on to compete in the final at the end of the excavator competition, to enter you need a team of 3 and you can send your entry details to HBEC@civilcontractors.co.nz
