Dr Mary Obele, a Specialist Occupational and Environmental Physician, has been a doctor for over twenty years specialising in health and work.
Mary loves being on worksites. She works directly with workers and employers to solve gnarly problems, pilot programs that work and engage organisations.
Mary works for various industries, consults for governments and organisations, lectures at universities and conferences, writes medical articles and supports new doctors.
Mary’s peers awarded her the Australia and New Zealand Society of Occupational Medicine John Stokes Medal for her services to occupational medicine.
In 2021, Mary was keynote presenter of the Jim MacDonald Lecture Tour for the Institute of Quarrying, travelling throughout New Zealand to present to large audiences, culminating in being awarded the Lyn Jordan Memorial Trophy at the AQA/IOQ National Awards for the best technical paper.
Mary drives practical, genuine health and safety at work. Her special interests include harm prevention, complex occupational issues, psychosocial hazards, aging workers, young workers, and environmental medicine.
Mary will discuss some current challenges and get you thinking about work and health. We are very fortunate to have secured Dr Mary for this event, and attendance is highly recommended.

Tony’s professional experience spans 16 years in the military and security community, where he specialised in intelligence operations and risk management. Tony’s operational deployments include Timor-leste, Iraq, and Afghanistan.
Tony is a co-founder of HALO Training, and has a passion for helping people overcome the challenges of leadership through his lessons learned from the battlefield, as well as overcoming Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and alcoholism.
