This award category is open to all CCNZ Hawkes Bay East Coast financial members who have completed a project that has a value of more than $3million.  You may submit more than one entry.

Judging Process

  • The submissions are assessed by the judges who will then select entries from each category for site visits.
  • Following the site visits the judges will select the finalists.
  • The entry documentation influences but does not determine the outcome.
  • The finalists all attend the Hirepool Construction Excellence Awards Dinner at the CCNZ Hawkes Bay East Coast annual awards dinner where the winners of each category will be announced date TBC.

Eligibility

  1. Any project that has achieved practical completion within the past 12 months (or which will achieve practical completion on or before 30 September 2020)

  2. Entrants must include in their submission:
    1. Project details such as start and end date and value.
    2. Project summary.
    3. A copy of the Certificate of Practical Completion for the project.
    4. Evidence of client satisfaction in writing, demonstrated by a letter/email from the client.
    5. Evidence of customer satisfaction (road users, adjoining property owners, stakeholders and neighbours), e.g. examples of the customer/s receiving good project information prior to and during the project or safety briefings; or feedback from stakeholders throughout the project.
    6. A selection of five high resolution photographs are to be uploaded. These photographs will be used for the awards presentations and awards booklet.

  3. Entries need to clearly show who the entrants are, regardless of the submission being individual or joint.
  4. Entries should indicate any commercially sensitive information that should not be published.

Award Application Questions

Project Resume

The project resume should include ( but not be limited to ) the following:

  • How did you get the project?
  • How was the job carried out?
  • Was the job completed to standard, within budget and on time?
  • Any innovative construction methods used and/or difficulties encountered in completing the project.
  • Any customer feedback?

The more information that you provide, the easier it is for the judges to assess your entry.


Setting up the Project - Planning and Control - 10% contribution to score

 

Describe the project, the unusual site conditions or constraints, and the key risks or opportunities identified. Explain the systems/planning that went into addressing these areas:

Physical Works - Risk 20% contribution to score

Describe how risk factors were managed, and overall project/contract results:

Physical Works - Construction 20% contribution to score

External Relationships 15% contribution to score

Marketing Statement

A marketing statement of no more than 200 words giving a brief description of the entry that can be used for media releases and award publications. This statement should include:

  • Project name
  • Location
  • Client details
  • Consultant details
  • Contractor details
  • Project commencement and completion dates
