Mark Evans has joined the Civil Contractors New Zealand Executive Council, bringing with him significant project expertise working across New Zealand, Papua New Guinea and the United Kingdom.

Currently Alliance Director for Te Ahu a Turanga – Manawatu Tararua Highway, Mark has been General Manager for HEB Construction since 2015, providing governance for high-profile projects such as Transmission Gully, the North Canterbury Transport Infrastructure Recovery Alliance and sections of the Waikato Expressway.

A regular at CCNZ Auckland Branch meetings over the past 20 years, Mr Evans is currently on the CCNZ Auckland Branch Executive Committee, also participating on branch sub-committees for Training and Youth Employment, Health Safety Environment and Sustainability, and Major Clients Liaison. He stood for election to the Executive Council in 2018 and 2019, with the goal of giving something back to his industry and country, he said.

“I put my name forward for the National Executive Council to contribute my experience and exposure of the industry for the benefit of the industry and the country I love”.

CCNZ President Tim Ford said having of someone with Mark’s industry knowledge and experience would be of huge benefit to CCNZ.

“We’re really looking forward to working with Mark. He has shown his passion for the industry time and again. He has successfully taken on governance roles in many of New Zealand’s most significant transport and infrastructure projects.”

Mr Evans was appointed to the Executive Council to replace John Burden of Downer following a shift of roles for CCNZ Vice President Tony Pike from CPB Contractors to Downer. Mr Burden stood down to ensure balanced representation on the Executive Council.
